I would like to echo some of what you said, in that I really do hope the silly debates surrounding whether Kobe and/or the Lakers are any good is now finally over. While you on your side hope that Laker/Kobe fans will now finally just be satisfied, I on my side hope that Laker/Kobe haters will finally just be quiet. I think we both want the same thing, really. Aren't we all tired of debating this?

Here's hoping that both sides will realize that they were each fueling the other. The haters were putting the fans on the defensive with their attacks, while the fans were pissing the haters off with their over the top adulation. Hopefully there is no more debate. Kobe is a great player, and he's proven he knows how to win, he knows how to make his teammates better, and he knows how to lead them to a championship. He's also proven he's a dick, he's arrogant, he's churlish, he complains too much on calls, and he's still prone to waffling between being the player I said he was in the last sentence and being a guy who plays some horribly stupid, inefficient basketball.

For this debate to end, both sides will have to make allowances to the other. I'm hopeful that this will happen. Here's to peace in 2009 :)
