THE NBA IS MAGIC

Let’s rock out about it.

FIRST THINGS FIRST

The Clippers AND the Kings won last night.  That’s the first time both of those teams have won on the same day in the history of time.

PLUS

The Knicks AND the Bobcats won.  Four bad teams winning on the same night?  Seems fishy.

BUT

The Grizzlies lost.  That’s how you know it’s legit.

MY APOLOGIES

To Zach Randolph, who has been playing hard on both sides of the ball this season.  He’s running the court.  He’s been a willing passer.  Sure, he’s shooting 17 times a game, but they’re going in at a pretty decent clip.  Keep it up, Zach.

NOT TO MENTION

He had a wide-open breakaway last night.  We’re talking, there wasn’t anyone else on his half of the court.  It is impossible that he could have been more open.

OF COURSE

He shot a lay-up.  Left-handed, over the front of the rim.  It went in.  It was hilarious.  Keep it real, Zach.

LAST THING ABOUT ZACH RANDOLPH

He started the game with a headband.  He ended the first quarter without a headband.  He needs it to get his forehead warm.

WOW THAT’S A LOT ABOUT ZACH RANDOLPH

I know.  Too much.  Let’s move on.

ANOTHER THING THAT HAPPENED

Spencer Hawes faced off against Marc Gasol.  Feels like some kid is going to start a humor site about it sometime in the distant future.  I need to find that kid and warn him.

ALSO

I fell asleep during the Knicks/Hornets game.

WHEN I AWOKE

Larry Hughes was in the midst of making a jumpshot.

WAS IT REAL LIFE?

Debatable.

PHYSICAL SIMILARITIES

DJ Augustin and 65% of Deron Williams. Spencer Hawes and Brad Miller’s ball fake.  Al Harrington and Zach Randolph from the neck down.  Courtney Lee and 80% of 2003 Kenyon Martin.

BIG UP YOURSELF

Gerald Wallace (20/20).  Kevin Martin (48/5/4).  Chris Paul (32/5/14). Kayte Christensen (Kings sideline reporter/Twitter/bueno).  Zach Randolph (30/16/1).

CHILL OUT

Sam Young, with your jumpers seconds after coming off the bench.  The Grizzlies, with your making every play as hard as humanly possible.  DeMarre Carroll, for being the genesis of the ‘hard as possible’ effect.  Chris Duhon, for every drive and kick being thrown about two feet of where your guy wants to catch the ball.  Juwan Howard.
