If We Get Like, Two More D-League Bloggers We’re Gonna Have Our Own ROW At Summer League!

I’m excited about the opportunity to delve into a new field of basketball writing this season, getting a chance to cover the D-League as its links to the NBA grow stronger with each team now affiliated to at least one and in many cases multiple NBA franchises. I’m curious about how team management functions vary from those at the NBA level given that long-term player development is as significant a goal (and possibly more so) as team success. I’m interested in how fans connect to teams at the minor league level. Of course, I’m trying to figure out which of these players will make it at the next level. Exploring all of that will keep us plenty busy around here this season.

Steve Weinman is a fantastic talent and the addition of D-League Digest to THN is a win-win-win. It’s getting a fantastic writer his own portal to use his talents. It’s providing THN with a dedicated D-League site. And it’s opening up more exposure for the D-League, which I can promise you, is going to be a bigger and bigger part of the NBA, especially after the 2011 CBA.

Bookmark it, RSS it, add it to your list. This should be good stuff.

Between my former stomping grounds at Ridiculous Upside which has become absolutely essential reading, the terrific coverage at 48 Minutes of Hell, and now D-League Digest, there’s finally significant coverage of the D-League on the blogosphere.

And of course, I’m just getting started.
