n my opinion, the NBA has the best sports bloggers on the Internet. I know, I know. I’m biased. Get over it. Now that 2009 is coming to a close, I think it’s time we recognize the best of the best.Below I’ve nominated what I consider to be the five best general NBA blogs on the Internet. Just to clarify: these are blogs that focus on the league as a whole, not one individual team. Each of these blogs is great. It’s difficult to decide which is the best, so I’m leaving it up to you, NBA readers, to decide which one gets the “Fiendyâ€: the award for elite status.
via Basketball Fiend.
Yes, I realize we did these two years ago.
Yes, I realized I promised several people we’d do them last year.
Yes, I’m still planning on doing more categories later on. It’s a lot of work, okay? I couldn’t keep up, what with the playoffs and real life and producing all those adult videos. My life is JAM-PACKED (that’s what she said… is that still funny? No? Not even a little?).
Anyway, Basketball Fiend is running contests for Best Basketball Blogs (Team, General, Podcast A.K.A. everyone stands around and watches as the Basketball Jones destroys everyone even though the rest of those are all really good).
We didn’t get nominated for best general NBA blog. Mostly because our readership is a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the average post’s readership on those other sites.
But we’re WAY FUNNIER.
Sure, they have established writers and years of experience and payroll and Synergy and all that, but if you look at the advanced stats, our pop-culture-references-per-40 are way higher.
Put that behind your boxscore and smoke it.
And no, we’re not really upset at not getting a nomination. Those are big players in the coverage game. We’re more of window musers. If that was a word. See? We can’t even create our own words.
But if you guys were to go over there and write us in in the comments, that would be neato. Not you, Mom. (Dang it, there goes half my readership!)
