Breaking: Big Awkward White Dude Moving To North Dakota

The Dakota Wizards announced today that they have acquired Connor Atchley from the available player pool.

Atchley, a 6’10 forward-center, played four games, including one start, for the Golden State Warriors in the 2009 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas in July. After beginning this season in Turkey, he recently decided to return stateside to play in the NBA D-League.

The 24 year-old played four seasons at the University of Texas, including a junior season in which he led the Big 12 conference in blocked shots. Atchley was also a four-time Academic All-Big 12 selection and ranks second all-time in games played for the University of Texas.

Oh, Connor.

See, Connor was Cole Aldrich before Cole Aldrich was Cole Aldrich. I mean, sure, Cole has more talent and ability and size and is better looking, but really, Connor was the prototype. The T-800.

Seriously. Look at the man. He needs to be selling Chevy’s with his own billboard, drinking at the elk lodge. Dakota’s been mediocre on the boards so far, so this should help. The first time he plays Courtney Sims will be glorious. If only Pop was still in the league.
