As a T-Wolves fan myself, I like this idea, because you don’t have to keep Amare (. Al Jefferson has four years left on his deal, while Amare is a free agent this summer. That means the Wolves will have enough money to sign possibly T-Mac and Joe Johnson and maybe even Dirk Nowitzki.

The T-Wolves do have 1st rounders from Charlotte and Utah they could throw around.

And a bitter recollection–the Wolves could have been sitting with Noah and Jefferson themselves. But our guys went for the shooting guard who can’t shoot instead.

If Tayshaun is healthy, swapping him for Gay would be more likely, though that would be the final nail in the coffin for Detroit’s long-cultivated identity as a defensive team.
